[email protected] CALDWELL – A week removed from winning the Tigerette Invitational, the Thrall Tigerettes (4-5-2) ran into stiff competition at the Caldwell tournament over the weekend. The Tigerettes posted a 1-3-1 record in the three-day event.

The Thrall Tigerettes competed at the regional powerlifting meet on Saturday, Feb. 25, and finished in 3rd place as a team.

THRALL – The Thrall Tigers (1-1) rallied from an early 2-0 deficit Friday to turn back the Austin Waves 6-3. It was the Tigers first win of the season.

LULING – Ashlyn Jarosek came off the bench to score a gamehigh 20 points, and a swarming Tigerettes defense held Ganado to five field goals, as Thrall (25-11) captured the bi-district title with a 52-29 Tuesday night in Luling.

MANOR – After a slow start, the Taylor Ducks basketball team ended the regular season dominating the back half of district play. The Taylor Ducks defeated the Manor New Tech Titans 63-53, Tuesday, Feb.

TEMPLE – The Taylor Lady Ducks season came to an end Thursday night in Temple after falling to the Connally Cadets 55-33 in the Area playoff game. While the loss in the game was tough for the Lady Ducks, they emphasized an even bigger loss after the game.

Thrall High School’s Tyler Bonkowski, was honored this past week as a Padilla Coaches Poll 2A-D1 1st Team All-State Tight End. This is a tremendous accomplishment and honor for the versatile junior; however, this honor goes much deeper than stats alone.

When the clock hit zero Tuesday night at the Duck Pond to signal the end of the game, the Lady Ducks found themselves with their sixth win in a row and first place in district. As the final seconds ticked off the clock, Taylor fans in attendance stood up to give the Taylor Lady Ducks a loud and passionate standing ovation.

LA GRANGE – The Taylor Ducks defeated the La Grange Leopards 53-48 Tuesday night on the road to keep themselves in the mix for the last playoff spot. The Ducks got major contributions from seniors Anthony Cottrill and Conner Cobb with junior Treos Richardson lending a helping hand as well in the winning effort.
