THRALL - The Thrall High School varsity football team, which has already matched last season’s win total, looks to stay perfect at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 as the Tigers travel to take on Jewett Leon High School.
The Tigers are coming off of a 49-0 thrashing of Florence High School at home last Friday as Thrall won its Homecoming game in shutout fashion. Through three games, the Thrall offense has already scored a whopping 147 points and has allowed just 56 points.
The junior duo of quarterback Chance Parker and wide receiver Landon Gregory continues to be a force for the Thrall offense, while senior running back Aiden Nickle and senior wide receiver Steven Walker is also with senior tight end Tyler Bonkowski. Be sure to also keep an eye out for senior wide receiver Breken Proctor, who is also getting plenty of touches with this Tigers offense.
As a unit, Thrall’s defense suffocated the Florence offense throughout the night as head coach Aaron Vanecek’s squad did not allow the Buffaloes to score once.
Following a backand- forth affair against Johnson City High School that involved a ton of scoring from both teams, Thrall dominated Florence and scored 35 of its 49 points in the second half.
After the Cougars won their first game 27-21 over Rosebud-Lott High School, Leon has lost two straight contests at Dawson High School (22-16) on Sept. 1 and at home vs. Wortham High School (28-7) last Friday.
