Ducks football qualifies for 7-on-7 state tournament

CAMERON – The Taylor High School varsity football team’s hard work on a scorching hot day was properly rewarded on Saturday, June 10 as the Ducks went 3-1 at the 7-on-7 state qualifying tournament hosted by Cameron Yoe High School. With their final victory of the day, the Ducks were able to qualify for the upcoming Dave Campbell’s Texas Football 7-on-7 State Tournament on June 22-23 held at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex in College Station.

Dark Horse rides to success

HUTTO – Next month, area eigth–grade basketball players will be called on to defend the United States as teams from countries around the world gallop in to Round Rock to take on reigning international champs Dark Horse Hoops from Hutto.

The Ducks and Lady Ducks continue to be hard at work with the youth and high school programs at Taylor and have already made it to the middle of June. Taylor just had its first Lady Patos Soccer Camp for both girls and boys over the weekend under head coach Joel Flores.

FORT WORTH – Taylor High School cheerleaders and head coach Tracie Donahue had a very active week on June 7–10 as the Lady Ducks took part in a Universal Cheerleaders Association camp hosted at Texas Christian University.

Lady Ducks basketball camp shows strong future of program

Taylor Independent School District had another successful week of summer activities as the second annual Lady Ducks Youth Basketball Camp under girls varsity basketball head coach Lawrence Bailey went from June 5-8. The four-day camp for the younger group of second through fifth graders went in the auxiliary gym first followed by the older group camp of second through ninth graders afterward in the main gym.

Anderson, Michna bring home accolades from local sports award ceremony

Two standout Taylor High School athletes were honored on Tuesday night as boys track and field senior Jarvis Anderson and girls tennis freshman Rylee Michna attended the annual Austin Area High School Sports Awards presented by the Austin American-Statesman.

Area sports summer camps continue next week

Taylor and Hutto will each be back in action next week as the two school districts will host various sports camps for younger athletes. TAYLOR Lady Patos soccer will host two separate camps this upcoming week that will provide individual instruction and team concepts under the Taylor girls soccer program on June 10-11.

Thrall hosts successful all-sports summer camp

Thrall Independent School District began its first week of the summer with a great turnout of roughly 120 kids from incoming second through eighth grades on May 30 – June 2 for the 2023 Summer All-Sports Camp.

Ducks baseball flocks to regional finals

MIDLOTHIAN – A storybook 2023 season will continue to live on as the Taylor High School varsity baseball team shut out Longview Spring Hill High School 2-0 in Game 2 of the 4A regional semifinals at Ronnie Clanton Field to advance to the next round of the playoffs.
