Student council marks February holidays

The month of February was not just filled with love at Thrall High School, it was filled with respect, admiration and dreams. The Thrall Student Council celebrated Black History Month by creating a poster in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

Remember Shrinky Dinks? Older children will have a chance for library fun Wednesday, March 16, to do the retro craft. Teenagers can make a key chain, necklace, bracelet or earrings. They can trace a picture or draw their own. The event will be 2-3 p.m. Advance registration is required.

County celebrates Bartlett street improvements

On Feb. 17, Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles was joined by Bartlett Mayor Chad Mees and others for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Cotrell Street improvement project. The project included pavement repair and overlay of the road from West Elm Avenue to Arnold Drive.

Taylor Middle School’s band, led by head band director Brianna Perry, traveled to Bastrop this past week for the University Interscholastic League concert and sightreading evaluation.
