After the storm

And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.

Most people in Taylor were lucky and when the tornado hit, but neighboring areas experienced massive power outages and damage.

Taylor citizens did what they always do. They checked on their neighbors and put a plan together on how to help those who were not so lucky.

Some organized food drives and others offered to help with clean up.

Williamson County Constable Precinct 4 reported “had some great donations yesterday, Caroline Harris donated water, work gloves, tarps and rope. Gary Williams donated very large 24 foot by 40 foot roof tarps. … We spent today getting them delivered around Pct 4. I also can’t say enough about Bobby Withrow with Texas Fallen Project, Inc. In the last two days he has procured, cooked, prepared and delivered enough food to feed over 500 people affected by the tornado. This man and his network steps up every time there is a need. #WilCoStrong”

There will always be things in our lives that we have no control over. However, we can always control how we respond to a situation.

Taylor has responded with kindness.

Even after the worst storms, the sun will shine again.

DOMINOS RETURN

Taylor citizens have worked together to lower the Coronavirus numbers, so it is safe again for our neighbors to gather and play dominoes – straight, 42 and Mexican train.

Seniors across Taylor came together last Tuesday, March 8, to visit and play dominoes at the Tripp Intergenerational Learning Center, located at 1517C Milles. Please join them for fun on April 12 at 1:30 to 4 p.m.
