Celebrating Black life, culture, history

Taylor Middle School hosted a program on March 10 to celebrate black life, culture and history. Program director LA’Toya Smith began the event with comments about Black History Month, followed by the school choir singing the Negro National Anthem.

Taylor Middle School hosted a program on March 10 to celebrate black life, culture and history.

Program director LA’Toya Smith began the event with comments about Black History Month, followed by the school choir singing the Negro National Anthem.

The evening’s celebration included a tribute to the contributions of African Americans and a keynote address, “Reflection of History,” by Don and Leslie Hill.

Students organizing the event include Melissa Solis, Ka’Mia Gadison, Emmanuel Chester, Rodolphe Rochez, Alona Thompson, Farrah Elliot, Daisy Arriaga, Mackenzie Maybin, Billy Harison, Ce’Delia Moore, Jaraylyn Courtney, Reginae Toussaint, Andre Charleston and Zehcora Rochez.
