THRALL – One Tiger will have the honor of playing in the 2023 Blue-Grey All-American Bowl in December as Thrall High School varsity football senior tight end Tyler Bonkowski will represent the West squad.

A promising group of 6-year-old Pony League champions from Taylor were honored in council chambers last week. At the Taylor City Council meeting on July 13, as the city designated July as Parks and Recreation Month, Parks and Recreation Director Tyler Bybee recognized the 6U Ducks All-Star team of the Taylor Area Baseball And Softball League, which recently was named 2023 Pony League Regional Champions and are headed to the league’s World Series July 23 in Youngsville, Louisiana.

LANCASTER – Class of 2023 Granger High School graduate Nathan Tucker is back in the news again after it was announced that the Lions baseball standout committed to Dallas College Cedar Valley this week.

CANTON, Ohio – Former Hutto High School varsity football standout wide receiver Davion Davis was a significant part of his current team winning the United States Football League Championship Game on Saturday, July 1, as the Birmingham Stallions defeated the Pittsburgh Maulers 28-12 at neutral site Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

GRANGER – Two Granger High School class of 2023 athletes were named in their respective sports to the Texas High School Coaches Association 2A All-State Super Elite Team with Mattie Wilkie in softball and Nathan Tucker in baseball.

EUGENE, Ore. – A pair of former Taylor High School stars will be on center stage as Fred Kerley will compete in the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships on July 6–9 with Jarvis Anderson in the U20 showcase.

The annual Taylor Press 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is just days away with July 8–9 looming and people continuing to sign up. With humble beginnings, Taylor Press area editor Jason Hennington is busy at work as he prepares for the 10th installment of this growing basketball tournament.

HUTTO – The 6U Taylor Ducks are making history and are headed to the Pony World Series in Youngsville, Louisiana. The World Series will take the top 20 teams in the country and have them battle it out for the championship.

GRANGER – Heading into his fourth year at the helm of the Lions’ football program, Granger High School varsity football head coach Stephen Brosch was honored in the 2023 issue of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine in the 40 Under 40 section along with the other best young coaches in the state.

BASTROP – Taylor High School boys varsity basketball put in work on June 26 as the Ducks headed south down Highway 95 for another week of summer basketball league held at Bastrop Middle School. On Monday evening, Taylor had a much deeper squad for scrimmages against Cedar Creek High School at 6 p.m.
