Chavana retires from Taylor ISD

Twenty-eight years ago, Maria Chavana applied for a job as a teacher’s aide with Taylor ISD. There were no openings for aide positions at that time, so she interviewed by phone with then East Williamson County Cooperative (EWCC) director Barbara Burton for a secretarial position in the special education office.

Thrall High School junior Kerrigan Hooker has been selected as a College Board National Recognition Program awardee. She earned this recognition because of her academic achievements in school and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. Kerrigan received the National Rural and Small Town recognition.
