The annual tradition of saluting the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for our nation will be marked in Murphy Park Monday.

On May 30, the City of Taylor Memorial Day Salute will be at 10 a.m. at the park’s Liberty Gardens, 1600 Veterans Drive in Taylor.

Memorial Day com memorates the men and women who died while in the military service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. Taylor traditionally observes the holiday with a special ceremony at Murphy Park featuring speakers, the national anthem, a gun salute and more. The last two years’ salutes were online virtual events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
