Like a recent Taylor event, Hutto’s municipal government is trying to wrangle ideas for tomorrow.
The Design Rodeo will be an interactive workshop where Hutto residents will gather to understand the Downtown Hutto of today and then dream and design for the Downtown Hutto of tomorrow. The Rodeo is a daylong event with time slots throughout the day where the community can engage in specific topics, collaborate and participate in the process. The opportunity to draw, map and voice ideas will be the event’s focus.
At the end of the Rodeo, there will be a presentation and open house capturing and expressing conversations that occurred throughout the day. The presentation will include key topics, projects, opportunities and issues identified by the community.
Topics will include:
• historical preservation and authenticity;
• economy and housing;
• transportation and connectivity; and
• infrastructure and nature.
The event will be at the City Council chambers at Hutto City Hall, 500 West Live Oak St. in Hutto.
“Community Conversations” will be 10 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m. The Design Rodeo presentation will be 5-6 p.m., followed by the open house at 6-8 p.m.
