Flowers, a former Division I football player at the University of Kentucky, has been on the Ducks sideline since 2018 and will now take over as athletic director and head football coach.

Ducks edge out Caldwell for second district win

EVAN HALE evan.hale@taylor press.net CALDWELL – The Taylor Ducks varsity baseball team’s hot start continued Tuesday March 28 after picking up a win against the Caldwell Hornets. Coming off a 12-0 win over the Manor New Tech Titans, the Ducks battled the Hornets in a close game where the Ducks came away with a 2-1 win.

EVAN HALE evan.hale@taylor press.net GIDDINGS – The Taylor Lady Ducks varsity softball team now sits with a 2-2 record in district play after defeating the Giddings Lady Buffaloes Tuesday night on the road. Tuesday’s game was a fan friendly game as the two teams scored a combined 40 runs with the Lady Ducks scoring 25 of them.

Los Patos season ends in second round

EVAN HALE evan.hale@taylor press.net BRENHAM – The Taylor Ducks boys’ varsity soccer team, known to many as Los Patos, comes to an end in the second round of the playoffs in Brenham. Los Patos fell to the El Campo Ricebirds 1-0 after a tightly contested game that included incredible defense from both teams.

BARTLETT – The Thrall Tigers (12-6 overall, 4-3 District 27-2A) scored early and often in an 18-3 thrashing of the Bartlett Bulldogs (4-11, 0-6) Tuesday. The Tigers got off to a fast start, scoring three runs in the opening stanza.
