“Deliberately Diverse” represents the individual thoughts and opinions of a group of Taylor friends who almost never completely agree about anything but are gratified by the opportunity to stimulate deliberately diverse discussions in our beloved community.

Taylor was for the birds last weekend as Good Life Taylor hosted it’s first ever Bird Parade event at Memorial Field. About 100 people, some dressed as their favorite fowl, showed up to participate in the parade.

Relay for Life ran it’s course in Taylor until the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the New Century Club of Taylor found a new path to walk with the same mission.

CITY COUNCIL AT-LARGE TAYLOR ISD AT-LARGE Three challengers and one incumbent are facing off for the at-large seat on the Taylor City Council. In addition, one candidate is challenging the incumbent for the atlarge spot on the Taylor Independent School District board.

More public housing units for low-income Taylor residents may soon be on the horizon, but city leaders said they are not happy with the proposed project due to a lack of city input. According to officials, the design does not conform to the standards of the Envision Taylor Comprehensive Plan.

ROUND ROCK – The Hutto Independent School District is taking aim at a proposed wastewater plant seeking state approval that would be built near Veterans Hill Elementary School. A permit to construct the facility in the vicinity of the 500 block of Limmer Loop is under review by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Celebrate the next generation of business owners with the ESTEAM Academy Children’s Business Fair open to the public Saturday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CHASCO YMCA, 1801 N. Interstate Hwy 35, Round Rock.

The Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center is a nonprofit organization providing education and child advocacy. They will host their first-ever Break the Silence 3K Walk and Run and Kid’s Fun Run on Saturday, April 15, from 7 a.m.

Cinderella’s Closet is a local shop in Taylor, that has a mission of assisting youth to find their prom dresses even when finances stand in the way. In leu of their mission, on Saturday, April 22, they will host a free arts and craft fair at 3 p.m.
