Long-time Taylor track coach runs final race

Iconic and legendary cross country and track head coach Shelli Cobb took a step towards retirement Friday, April 7, according to a post from Cobb on social media. At the conclusion of this track season, Cobb’s time as the pillar of the Taylor Duck track program will come to a close. 

 

“I have been a part of this district for 24 years and have had the pleasure of working with and for some of the most amazing people in education,” Cobb said in the post. “The community of Taylor has been my home, and being a Taylor Duck has been an honor.”  

Throughout her illustrious career, Cobb has helped the Ducks collect multiple district titles and other accolades in track. Cobb was known for always putting her athletes first to make sure they get the showcasing they deserve.  

“I have poured my myself into this school district and community in every way I possibly could,” Cobb said in the post. “Whether it be as a teacher, coach, administrator church leader or active community member, Taylor has been a huge part of my identity, and will continue to be.”
