Last week, Taylor’s first African-American Publisher/Area Editor Jason Hennington celebrated a decade in the spotlight, but it almost didn’t happen. As a sophomore in high school, Hennington said he needed an elective and decided to give photography a try.

HUTTO — Residents say a developer’s mistake has left neighboring properties with flooding and other damage, and these homeowners want to know if the city is going to leave them to sink or swim on their own.

Luminaries on the Square
Luminaries on the Square

Luminaries on the Square returns for a second year Friday, April 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Square, 400 N. Main in Taylor. Everyone is invited to decorate paper bags and set them afloat with a candle inside them as a memorial for all cancer survivors and caregivers. Honor and remember those who won the fight, lost the fight, or are still fighting. The evening will include entertainment, food, and a Luminaria Ceremony. Bring a chair and cheer.

Los Patos take first step in playoff journey

Los Patos continued their dominant season with a firstround playoff win at home last week. The Taylor Ducks boys’ soccer team defeated the La Vega Pirates 7-0 in the first round of playoffs Friday, March 24, on their home field.

BURNET – The Taylor Lady Ducks track team showed their speed and endurance this past weekend on the road. The Lady Ducks traveled to Burnet to compete in the Burnet Bulldog Relays, where they had a chance to show off their talents.
