Hall leads Lions past Tigers

GRANGER – Thomas Hall’s walk-off single to left in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Granger Lions (10-9 overall, 7-4 District 27-2A) a 4-3 win over the Thrall Tigers (14-7, 6-5) Tuesday night. The win also gave the Lions sole possession of fourth place in the race for the playoffs.

Tigerettes rally past Thorndale

THRALL – Sometimes, one seemingly small mistake, can have big consequences. Tuesday night, the Thorndale Lady Dogs committed just one error, but it proved very costly as the Thrall Tigerettes (12-13-2 overall, 6-6 District 27-2A) scored four runs on that one error and rallied past the Lady Dogs 8-6.

Hippos pick up back-to-back wins against Bulldawgs

HUTTO – District wins are very important to teams this late in the season, and the Hutto Hippos just picked up back-to-back wins to help distance themselves in the district standings. The Hippos defeated the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs Monday and Tuesday night to slide comfortably in second place in the district.

Life on the court

As a young child, Rylee Michna remembers dragging a small tennis racquet around the courts while watching her older brother, Brayden, play in tournaments. Now, this lifelong Duck swings a fullsize racquet as a member of the Taylor High School tennis team, having just claimed the 2023 4A Region 3 Girls Singles Championship.

City cleans up April 29; two locations designated for drop off
City cleans up April 29; two locations designated for drop off

The city of Taylor will hold a Citywide Spring Clean Up Saturday, April 29, to give citizens the opportunity to drop off unwanted items that are otherwise too bulky to dispose of. Collections will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at two locations, 1300 Welch St. and 1424 N. Main St.
