District 1 Councilman Gerald Anderson reads Mayor Brandt Rydell’s Proclamation that is April is “Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month” at the regular meeting of the City Council April 13. There, organizers reminded the public to attend the “Break the Silence 3K Walk/Run and Kid’s Fun Run” from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday in Murphy Park, featuring live music performances, facepainting, food, a bounce house, as well as speakers and booths from the city and county’s victims’ units, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services, and Hope Alliance, with resources and information on childhood sexual assault.
