Hot streak could be worst in 10 years

If local forecasts hold, Taylor could have the most consecutive days of 100-degree temperatures in 12 years. The Taylor Texas Weather Network recorded highs from 100 to 104 degrees July 10-13.

CR 366 in Taylor to close until June 2024

Due to unsafe driving conditions during construction, County Road 366 will be closed to through traffic until early next summer, officials said. “I would like to have (Public Works Director) Jim (Gray) come and provide some breaking news about County Road 366,” said City Manager Brian LaBorde at the July 13 meeting of the Taylor City Council.

Proposed budget $14M more than last year

Next year’s total budget of just under $62 million is $14 million more than last year and will allow for new fire and police personnel, parks and recreation projects, expanded drainage improvements and even a part-time curator for the Dan Moody Museum.

X Games star ID’ed in fatal crash

WILLIAMSON COUNTYThe two victims of the fatal car crash July 1 have been identified. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that the two drivers were Ysidro Garza, 59, from Elgin, and Tatum Sik, 32, from Granbury.
