Winter Storm Warning on Thursday

Groundhog Day, this Wednesday, Feb. 2, marks when groundhog Punxsutawney Phil reveals whether winter will extend for six more weeks. In the Taylor area, hard freezes, sleet and icy conditions are likely regardless of what Mr. Phil in Pennsylvania says.

Livingston Fund accepting applications

The Leo Livingston Fund grant committee is actively accepting applications to help local non-profit organizations again this year. The Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley administers a charitable endowment fund that was created in memory of Leo Livingston by his wife Doris Livingston, benefits nonprofit organizations in the Taylor community.

New virus cases trend down in Williamson County

Although new weekly cases of COVID-19 in Williamson County remain in the thousands, the first decline in more than a month was this past week. Confirmed cases, which include past and current cases reported to the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD), went up by 5,404 in Williamson County Jan.

Coupland Civic Organization to tour new school

The Coupland Civic Organization will have something new and different for their Jan. 31 meeting. Instead of having a program at the St. Peter’s Fellowship Hall, residents will be treated to a tour of the new and renovated Coupland School facilities hosted by Superintendent Tammy Brinkman. Thank you, Superintendent Brinkman, for your generous offer to show residents the wonderful new building and the renovated old facilities. Of special interest will be the new regulation size gym which Coupland has needed for many years.
