Milam Community Theater will present its second Youth Series performance of the 2022 Season.
“The Jungle Book.” by Joseph Bobinette, directed by Samantha Sanders and Stephanie Junker, and based on the books by Rudyard Kipling, will be presented on and on Saturday, May 7, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., followed by Sunday, May 8, at 3 p.m., at the Lester and Beatrice Williams Event Center, 408 S. Columbus Ave in Cameron.
A literature classic will be brought to the stage in this adventure of Mowgli, an Indian boy raised by caring wolves, befriended by panther Bagheera and bear Baloo, and threatened by the evil tiger Shere Kahn. Also present are an array of other jungle creatures who inhabit this action-filled play.
The play highlights the struggle of good versus evil, the worth of friendship and the importance of loyalty and other values required for surviving the “law of the jungle.”
While a young audience will delight in the portrayal of the animals and the fast-paced action, older children will be fascinated by the character relations and the story itself.
Tickets are $8 and available at the box office or online at http://www.milamcommunitytheater@com.
