Election Day is mere weeks away, and the Taylor Press wants to give you a closer look at the candidates. In Taylor, the only contested race is for city council District 1 between incumbent Mayor Pro Tem Gerald Anderson and Stan Werner.

In Taylor, the only contested race is for city council District 1 between incumbent Mayor Pro Tem Gerald Anderson and Stan Werner.

Thrall ISD

There are two seats up for election in May. Three people will run for the openings.

Wesley West, Blake Marek and Brian Drummond are the candidates for at-large seats on the Thrall ISD board of trustees.

City of Thrall

One commissioner seat will expire in May and is up for election. The race for the seat will be between Fernando Rodriguez and Clay Karch.

City of Hutto

In Hutto, two seats and the mayoral position are set to expire in May. Place 3 and Place 6 are both up for election.

Place 3 has two candidates, Ida Weaver and Randal Clark.

Candidates for Place 6 are Amberley Kolar and Nicole Calderon.

For mayor, incumbent Mike Snyder will be contested by Amanda “Mandi” Villarreal Salvo.

Hutto ISD

At Hutto ISD, three seats are up for election.

Billie Logiudice, board president, Terrence Owens, board vice president, and Morgan Hubbard, board secretary, all have seats that expire in May.

Logiudice and Owens will both run again. Additional candidates are Shannon Jacobs, Stevie Jones, Ashley McCombs and Jason McCombs

City of Granger

The city of Granger has three seats up for election in May. Terms for councilmembers Rosie Sweeting, Mark Matoska and David Hajda all expire in May.

Sweeting and Matoska will both run again. They will be joined by Ron Marx and Lori Gick.
