School talks bond of $85.5M

Taylor Independent School District might ask residents for a bond of more than $85.5 million later this year. On July 25, board trustees heard that figure during presentations from the school’s Community Advisory Committee and Rory Estes, a project manager from Stantec.

Rodeo invests in education

The Taylor Rodeo wrapped up its 2022 event on Saturday, July 16. During the three-day rodeo, ropers and riders competed for prizes, but for some award recipients the competition took place months earlier. Ten students from Williamson and Milam counties were each awarded $5,000 scholarships during the Friday night rodeo. The winners applied in May but were notified only a few days before the rodeo started.

Milam Community Theater travels to Oz

Follow the cast and crew of Milam Community Theater down the yellow brick road as they perform their 2022 Summer Musical, “The Wizard of Oz.” The stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s tale and the iconic musical score from the MGM film features Dorothy Gale as she travels over the rainbow into the magical Land of Oz, along the way meeting friends and foes alike.
