Samsung, Farm Bureau donate $35,000

GEORGETOWN — Williamson County residents devastated by tornadoes in March and earlier this month just got a little more help. During a presentation at Tuesday’s Williamson County Commissioners Court meeting, the Williamson County Rural Relief Fund received a $35,000 boost from Austin Samsung Semiconductors and the Williamson County Farm Bureau.

WILCO – The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll not only on people’s physical health, but their mental health as well. In order to better address mental health care needs in the community, the Williamson County Commissioners Court partnered with Bluebonnet Trails Community Services (BTCS), the local mental health authority in Williamson County, on several projects that were funded through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act or American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Virus cases get small uptick

Williamson County COVID-19 cases have had a slow uptick in the last few weeks, although some recent numbers include backlogs. Confirmed cases, which include past and current episodes reported to the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD), increased by 394 in the county April 5-11.
