A boy had a scary incident at Taylor's city pool Saturday afternoon but was recovering as the weekend progressed.
The event occurred May 28 reportedly in the waters at Murphy Park's pool, the Doris Roznovak Aquatic Center. City staff updated the community on the incident through its social media pages on Sunday
"The City of Taylor is happy to report that the young man who was rescued at the Doris Roznovak Aquatic Center yesterday evening is doing well and being monitored," said Taylor's municipal government in a May 29 statement, "and is likely to be released from the hospital today."
The pool was being overseen by YMCA personnel. Paramedics were also called to scene to help and eventually transport the male to a medical facility.
"We are grateful to Williamson County EMS and the team at the YMCA who handled the rescue quickly and professionally," said city staff.
Saturday was the Doris Roznovak Aquatic Center's opening day for 2022 pool season. The facility closed when the incident occurred.
"The pool is now open again and will resume normal operations throughout the day today," said city staff Sunday.
This is a developing story.
