Garage fire spreads to home

A Thursday fire destroyed half of a home in west Taylor. On June 16, the Taylor Fire Department rushed to the 500 block of Debus Drive near Thomas Street at 8:38 a.m.

Samsung’s Taylor interns start up

Twenty-three Taylor ISD students began a six-weeks paid summer internship at Samsung on June 13. Representing both Legacy Early College and Taylor High School, the interns spent their first day in orientation, learning about the company and its operations.

There’s a recent scam being committed against Williamson County residents.
Phone scam claims to be from county

The Williamson County District Clerk’s Office wants to warn residents in Williamson and surrounding counties about a phone scam that was reported to that office. People have been receiving calls from someone who claims to be a county official or law enforcement officer telling the victim that he or she has failed to appear for jury duty and is threatening arrest by failure to appear.

Hutto’s police chief has been credited with an initiative on school safety. Chief Jeff Chief Jeff Yarbrough recently received the 2022 Law Enforcement Award for Professional Achievement from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement for the creation of a school safety model called the Four Pillars of School Policing.
