Twenty-three Taylor ISD students began a six-weeks paid summer internship at Samsung on June 13.

Representing both Legacy Early College and Taylor High School, the interns spent their first day in orientation, learning about the company and its operations.

“It’s going really well,” said THS intern Ryan Newsom. “We’ve been learning how processors are made, and I’m loving every second of it.”

The request for internships was part of the county’s agreement with Samsung for their Taylor location. Plans call for 24 paid internships to be offered each school year to provide valuable experience and training for Taylor ISD students.

Some of the interns are working at the Austin manufacturing site while others are assigned at the Taylor construction site. Summer interns work 40 hours, Monday through Friday.
