Parolee caught with drugs and gun

On Tuesday, July 30, Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on parole who was found to have drugs and a gun.

The Williamson County Organized Crime Unit along with the K9 unit executed the warrant at 905 Gilmore St. and arrested Slade Brockman, 43, of Taylor.

Deputies found a handgun and approximately 18.8 grams of suspected cocaine. Brockman was charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, more than four grams but less than 200 grams.

According to Sheriff’s reports, Brockman is currently out on two felony bonds related to multiple charges of more than four grams of methamphetamine. He was also charged with unlawful possession of handgun.

"Slade Brockman's arrest reinforces the importance of vigilant law enforcement,” Sheriff Mike Gleason said.

Gleason said the seizure of 19 grams of cocaine and a firearm from a parolee sends a powerful message to the community.

"We will not tolerate criminal activity, and community protection is our top priority," he said.

According to Williamson County Jail records, Brockman is still in custody with no bond set.
