On June 27, Hutto Independent School District announced that its board of trustees approved Kayla Gosset as Benjamin “Doc” Kerley Elementary School Principal. Gossett most recently served as an assistant principal at Farley Middle School.

The 72nd annual Taylor Rodeo wrapped up this past Saturday, July 16 at the Williamson County Expo Center. Closing out the boot’ scootin nonstop action, the final night featured calf roping, breakaway roping, mutton busting, bulldogging, team bronc saddling and bull riding. City to talk budget

Taylor’s finances for the next fiscal year, which includes the city property tax rate as a factor, will begin to be budgeted Thursday. On July 21, the Taylor City Council will conduct its first budget workshop of the year and review the preliminary budget for 2023.

A high of 106 degrees is expected Wednesday, July 20, in what has been a sweltering summer. “Dangerous heat continues on Wednesday with highs of 100 to 107,” said the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio Office, “and heat index values up to 109.” NWS issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Williamson County through 9 p.m.

When the rodeo comes to town, so do the clowns and the bullfighters. But what is the difference? Many years ago, a rodeo clown and a bullfighter were basically the same.

Local health district looks into monkeypox

A possible case of monkeypox has been found in Williamson County, but the local health district stresses that there is little danger to the community. On July 14, the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD) announced that it was awaiting results from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to confirm a presumptive case of monkeypox in Williamson County.
