A high of 106 degrees is expected Wednesday, July 20, in what has been a sweltering summer.

“Dangerous heat continues on Wednesday with highs of 100 to 107,” said the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio Office, “and heat index values up to 109.”

NWS issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Williamson County through 9 p.m. Wednesday. Warnings are also in effect to the north and for counties to the south along the I-35 corridor. Heat advisories are in effect in southwest and southeas Texas.

Based on the Taylor Texas Weather Network forecast, Wednesday might be the peak of this week’s temperatures. Triple digits are likely to remain, however.

“High temperatures will range from the upper 90s to 107 for the next several days,” said NWS Austin/San Antonio Office of the region. “Additional heat advisories are possible Thursday through Sunday (July 21-24). No rain is expected.”

Sunny skies with little if any cloud cover are expected heading into next week. Winds will be from the south 5-10 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Taylor’s highs are expected to stay from 101 to 103 degrees from Thursday through next Monday, July 25. Nights should dip to around 76-77 degrees.
