Former Taylor High School alumnus Terrell Reynolds has been very active in his community lately as the former standout quarterback for the Ducks started a threeday youth football camp at the Taylor Athletic Complex.

Ducks boys basketball finishing summer league

BASTROP – Taylor High School boys varsity basketball is heading south down Highway 95 to Bastrop High School this Monday for its final summer league scrimmages. The scrimmages, which were supposed to be on Wednesday, were rescheduled to June 26 as Taylor will see some solid competition.

Taylor Press takes home top honors

The Taylor Press, “your award winning community newspaper,” earned some top honors recently from one of the oldest newspaper trade associations in the nation. On June 3, The Taylor Press took home 11 awards from during the 2022 Better Newspaper Contest Awards Banquet at Kalahari Resorts in Round Rock from the Texas Press Association, including the prestigious Sweepstakes Award.

Following last year’s Fourth of July fireworks display that frightened a flock of egrets and ultimately caused the birds to crash into power transformers, the annual firework launch site is moving to the nearby Bull Branch Park.
