Thursday, June 22 — At 5:30 p.m., The Elgin Swedish Association’s 77th Annual Midsummer Reunion festival Elgin’s SPJST Hall, 702 State Hwy 95.

Midsummer is the last remaining heritage festival hosted in Elgin. The event celebrates the longest day of the year and celebrates summertime as the season of fertility. The event will have traditional music acts, vendors and dances celebrating the heritage of Sweden. Western Days

Thursday, June 22 – Saturday, June 24 — The Elgin Chamber of Commerce will host the 2023 Western Days homecoming celebration at Elgin Memorial Park, 1127 N. Main St. Western Days will host sport tournaments, live music, local artisan craft vendors, a carnival, a parade and an outdoor marketplace. Williamson County Adoption Event Friday, June 23 — The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will host a free cat adoption event from 6 to 8 p.m., 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown. Rumor has it, there will be some canine wedding crashers on the Adoption Center patio as well. This is a one-day-only event and also free! Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 — Sanctioned by the Cowboy’s Professional Rodeo Association, this rodeo includes some of the top cowboys from all over the US. 8th Annual Chris Kelley Memorial 5K Saturday, June 24 — From 8 to 10:30 a.m., stretch and set off on a 5K fundraiser that supports a scholarship program and donations to families of fallen or injured first responders and military personnel.

Taylor Pride Day

Saturday, June 24 — From 2 to 9 p.m., Taylor Pride will celebrate its 2nd Annual Music and Arts Festival at Heritage Square, 400 N. Main St. There will be nearly 50 vendors and six bands for this free event. There will be a kid’s area and splash pad, and a 21+ VIP tent sponsored by Hola Aloha and Titos Vodka.

Summer Sunday

Sunday, June 25 — Black Sparrow Music Parlor will be opening their doors for fresh mimosas and cold beer from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 113 W. Second St. The parlor welcomes attendees to bring guitars or potluck style food. Outside food will be allowed for this low-key community event.

Community Wide Celebration & Fireworks Display Monday, July 3 — From 6 to 11 p.m., Elizabeth Lutheran Church will host the 27th Annual Community Wide Celebration & Fireworks Display, Highway 21 East and CR 307, Caldwell. There will be food trucks, live music, an inflatable bounce house and slide, a silent auction, a raffle and much more. No pets allowed. Taylor 4th of July Parade

Tuesday, July 4 — Promptly starting at 9 a.m., join the American Legion, Graham D. Luhn Post 39 for their 4th of July parade at Old Taylor High, 410 W.

Seventh St. The parade line up will start at 8 a.m. The hosts highly encourage decorated floats, cars, trucks, vans, bikes, horses, pets, bands, students and walkers! Taylor 4th of July Show

Tuesday, July 4 — From 6 to 9:30 p.m., the American Legion, Graham D.

Luhn Post 39 will present The Derailers, a honky-tonk band, for their 4th of July free concert at Murphy Park, 1310 Sycamore St. There will be food vendors and the swimming pool will be open. To cap off the evening, there will be a large fireworks display.

Taylor Press Annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9 — The Taylor Press will host an annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament to fund its scholarship, which is given to an area high school student. Signup for teams of 4 is $50. The deadline to sign up will be July 5. Age divisions for the event are 11-14, 15-17 and 18 and older (anyone who has played varsity level will play in this division). Watermelon Festival

Saturday, July 8 — At 7:30 a.m., celebrate McDade’s big festival with family-fun and watermelon! The day will be jam-packed with watermelonthemed activities like a Sweatin’ Melons 5K from 7:30 to 10 a.m., a Watermelon Eating Contest at 12:30 p.m. and a Prize Melon Auction at 5 p.m. in the pavilion.

Taylor Rodeo

Thursday, July 13 through Saturday, July 15 — Since 1950, Taylor Rodeo Association proudly hosts the Taylor Annual Rodeo in the hometown of Bill Pickett. The crowd of attendees continues to grow each year because of the enthusiasm, but most of all, for the entertainment. It is one of the biggest small-town rodeos. Visit https://www. taylorrodeo.org/.

2023 Movies in the Park

Saturday, July 15 — From 7:30 to 10 p.m., Taylor Parks & Recreation will play The Lego Batman Movie for their second 2023 Movies in the Park event at Heritage Square, 400 N. Main St. The children will have an hour of activity time before the movie starts at 8:30 p.m.

Driving Business Forward Golf Tournament Wednesday, July 26 — From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Driving Business Forward Golf Tournament sponsored by Kanga Roof will take place at the Star Ranch Golf Club, 2500 FM 685, Hutto. Baskerville Play

July 29, 30 and Aug. 5 and 6 — The play Baskerville will be performed at the Williams Event Center, 408 S. Columbus Ave., Cameron.
