BASTROP – Taylor High School boys varsity basketball is heading south down Highway 95 to Bastrop High School this Monday for its final summer league scrimmages.

The scrimmages, which were supposed to be on Wednesday, were rescheduled to June 26 as Taylor will see some solid competition.

The Ducks will play at 6 p.m. in the secondary gym against Cedar Creek High School. Based on how they play, they will play their second game at 8 p.m. against the winner of the other 6 p.m. game in the main gym or the loser of the 6 p.m. contest in the secondary gym. Other teams in attendance are Bastrop, Cedar Creek, Elgin and Smithville.

Taylor was not at full strength this week due to a handful of players taking part in this weekend’s football 7-on-7 state tournament in College Station but head coach Stephen Gibson should have his entire squad for Monday night.

Be sure to check out the next edition of the Taylor Press for a recap of Monday’s boys basketball summer league action.
