GEORGETOWN — The Williamson County Courthouse will open its doors to a local business in September and October. The Commissioners Court approved a contract with Georgetown Palace Theatre to use the 26th District Courtroom to produce a play during its meeting July 25.

As Taylor grows, the need for expanded fire service protection is growing as well. At the July 27 regular meeting, the Taylor City Council approved a resolution to extend fire service provision within the next 60 days to an eight-square mile area of the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction that is not currently covered by Williamson County Emergency Services District No.

COUPLAND – Many communities hold their National Night Out events in the fall, however, Coupland continues the tradition of hosting the event in August. NNO will be held on the grounds of Coupland’s historic Depot. Depot Coordinator Barbara Piper says, “National Night Out is a national recognition and one we observe each first Tuesday in August.
HUTTO – Hippos youth football and Lady Hippos youth volleyball both hosted camps this week as Hutto Independent School district will transition from summer into the fall sports season. HIPPOS YOUTH FOOTBALL For incoming third through ninth graders, the Hippos got to take the field at Hutto Memorial Stadium on July 24-26 for the annual three-day youth football camp.
Taylor High School athletics will officially be back for the 2023 fall sports season this Monday morning as the Ducks and Lady Ducks start practices. First-year athletic director and Taylor varsity football head coach Earven Flowers will have his team ready to grind at 6 a.m.
