Last week of ‘Something Rotten’
Georgetown Palace Theatre will present “Something Rotten” at the Springer Stage from April 15 to May 15. Nominated for 10 Tony Awards, this rollicking show has been called “a valentine to musical theatre.” Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical.

Students work project for Columbine Day
Seven students and two adults from Taylor High School observed Columbine Day April 20 with a community service project for American Legion Post 39. The group of seniors spent the morning helping with cleaning up the building and the grounds.

Junior Woman’s Study Club meets in person
After two years of sporadic meetings due to COVID-19, the Junior Woman’s Study Club celebrated a gathering at the Lucky Duck Cafe on Thursday, April 14, with 20 members present. Ginny McAlister gave the blessing including a reading from an Easter prayer booklet, by Peter Marshall, which was given to her by her mother-in-law over 40 years ago.
