Rain or shine, a dedication for the historical marker for Post Oak Island will take place May 14 at 11 a.m. at the entrance to the Type Cemetery at 1200 County Road 466.

There will be a short program marking the history of the historic community that flourished before the Civil War and was the first home of Post Oak Island Masonic Lodge No. 181.
There will be a public address system so everybody will be able to hear. Some chairs will be provided, but to make sure that you have a seat, bring your own folding chair. In case of rain, the program will be held under the nearby pavilion. There is plenty of convenient parking.
