Art teacher Jean Barnett is Taylor High School’s Teacher of the Year. She loves watching her students grow and says that she learns from them as they learn from her. Crape myrtle trees, also spelled ‘crepe’ myrtle because the flowers resemble crepe paper, have been described as beautiful, long-blooming trees that sometimes suffer damage from an insect called bark scales.
