Taylor Area Businesswomen organization members opened their May meeting with a prayer.
Meeting minutes and Treasures reports were read an approved.
Their “Giving Back to the Community” project for the quarter was the Taylor Animal Shelter. Over pounds of dog and cat food were delivered at various times to the shelter.
Speaker for the month was Sandy Perio from the animal shelter about the general operation of the shelter and the issues involved and the upcoming plans for expansion awaiting approval from the City Council. The donations were greatly appreciated and much needed. Adopt Locally if needing a pet.
Ten excellent recipients were selected for scholarships from the Taylor Area. Each were awarded $500. The recipients were Dagny Rydell, Emily Miksch, Kayshauna Fields, Shellie Druesdow, Karina Munez, Brooke Newsom, Savannah Coy, Mairs “Isabel” Albert, Avery Stanzewski and Harley Miksch. The recipients and their mothers were invited to the June meeting.
Request for donations to the Friends of the Library, Music on Main and the Fourth of July fireworks were approved.
Door prizes were drawn, and birthdays were announced
The Taylor Area Businesswomen’s luncheon meetings are held at noon on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Gatti’s Pizza, South Main Street in Taylor.
All current, former, and interested businesswomen are invited to attend. Meals are $10.
