Meet the Taylor ISD principals

Taylor ISD invites all students and their families to meet the principals prior to the start of the 2022-23 school year. All six principals will be available for a meet and greet Aug. 2 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Taylor ISD Event Center, located at 3101 North Main St.

LEAD TAYLOR CLASS GRADUATES

Kendra Maness (front) with Councilmember Dwayne Ariola behind her congratulate graduates of the 2022 LEAD Taylor program during the June 23 City Council meeting in Taylor. The program is a community-focused, collaborative program that provides participants an in-depth look at government operations, community planning and awareness, and the opportunity to learn about civic culture from the inside. The classes include information about how city government works, operations of various city departments and Taylor Independent School District. Classes also covered civic organizations, Taylor history, the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, the Taylor Economic Development Corporation, Main Street and downtown Businesses. Classes are slated to return next year.

The Avery-Pickett Volunteer Fire Department added a new piece of hardware to assist with fighting fires. The department now has a 2,000-gallon tender with a 1250 GPM pump, which is typically used by firefighters to supply water to fire hose reels, fire hydrants or sprinkler systems.
