As school is starting, please remind your children that not every child has nice things. Not every child gets to wear name brand shoes or clothes. Every parent doesn’t get up with them to fix their hair or make sure they wear matching clothes. Some kids will come to school with their hair that was done two days ago and mismatched socks. That’s okay too. They still need friends.
Encourage your children to sit with the lonely child. Tell your child that bullying is not a reflection of the victim’s character, but rather a clear sign of the bully’s lack of character.
They say it takes a village to raise a child.
Let’s all make sure our kids have a safe and happy school year.
