After a public outcry last fall over a proposed City Council compensation increase from $25 to $1,200$1,500 per month, the Council Compensation Committee is recommending $250 per month based on input from residents.

Spring in Central Texas was delightfully but unseasonably cool this year, but Mother Nature has ensured summer is hot and dry as usual. The spring rains and cooler temperatures were great for the gardens and helped our summer crops get established and become healthy, productive plants.

HUTTO – If you have a dirty vehicle, this weekend you can get it washed at no charge. Tommy’s Express will be washing cars for free starting Friday, July 21, at its newest location in Hutto. The carwash is located at 447 Chris Kelley Boulevard at the former Big Reds Car Wash.

The Taylor Lions Club will host a golf tournament Saturday, Aug. 26 at Mustang Creek Golf Course in Taylor.
