Walk on restored history across Dickey footbridge

On Monday, June 27, community members are invited to take a walk over history. The Dickey footbridge, located near east Second Street between Robinson and Dolan, has been restored.

MCT youth to present 'Happily Ever Before'

Milam Community Theater has announced its Summer Youth Camp performances of the 2022 season, “Happily Ever Before,” by Tracy Wells and directed by Andrea Bailey. Week One camp cast will take the stage June 24-25, while week two cast performances will be presented July 1-2.

MUSEUM GIVEN PRIDEFUL DONATION

Patrick Taylor presents Susan Komandosky, chair of the Moody Museum advisory board, with a $500 H-E-B gift card donated by Taylor PRIDE. This donation will go to Shepherd’s Heart Food Pantry & Ministries as part of the museum’s annual Pounds of Plenty food drive to be held Saturday, June 25. Ribbon cutting in Granger Wednesday

Williamson County and the city of Granger invite the public to a ribbon-cutting for the Davilla Street improvement project. The project included replacing a collapsed box culvert under Davilla Street and replacing some of the street’s brick pavers with colored stamped concrete in the vicinity of the Davilla Street and Walton Street intersection.

Alternate routes will be needed to get around downtown Taylor Saturday On June 25, the Taylor PRIDE Music & Arts Festival will be from 2 to 10 p.m. at Black Sparrow Music Parlor, Texas Beer Company, Xchange Nightlife and outside along Second Street from Main to Vance streets and on half of a Talbot Street block north and south of Second.

Burn ban remains in effect
Burn ban remains in effect

Williamson County is under a burn ban. On June 21, Commissioners Court has issued a county-wide burn ban for a period not to exceed 90 days due to severe drought conditions, above average heat, low humidity, low fuel moistures and high winds that are creating dangerous wildfire conditions that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning.

DEI talks pride with PRIDE

Taylor PRIDE had an opportunity to talk about its upcoming festival during a special interview downtown last Wednesday. On June 15, the Taylor Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee met with Taylor PRIDE member Red Bailey during the committee’s monthly meeting at Texas Beer Company.
