IN OTHER BUSINESS:

• The City Council also approved a $150,000 contract to Fazzone for new signage in the downtown, and approved three additional contracts for other improvements, including at the intersection of Second and Main Streets, as well new striping for parking and landscaping.

• Moved forward on rezoning approximately 75 acres near the airport along U.S. 79 from rural agricultural to light industrial to build an employment center.

• Received an update on the murals at Potter’s Alley from the Public Arts Advisory Board

• Renewed a publicity and tourism agreement and Hotel Occupancy Tax agreement with the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce.

• Heard a presentation from Taylor Independent School District Superintendent Devin Padavil, about the $82 million bond election in November.

• Heard a presentation from the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) regarding services in Taylor.
