City hires lobbyists for 88th legislative session

The city has hired an advocacy firm to help move bills that reflect its priorities through the 88th State Legislative session. At the most recent meeting, the Taylor City Council Members unanimously approved an $80,000 agreement until February 28, 2024 with Focused Advocacy, a firm that specializes in representing cities.

New zones for Taylor ISD elementary schools

Taylor elementary schools will soon more resemble the more traditional model used in most cities in Texas. At the March 20 meeting of the Taylor Independent School District Board, trustees unanimously approved a facility assessment committee’s proposal developed about a year and a half ago to have two comprehensive elementary schools starting this fall rather than the “stacked” model currently in place.

Lady Ducks flex at state

FRISCO – One Lady Duck showed her strength, and became the most powerful competitor in the state. The Taylor Lady Ducks traveled to the Comerica Center in Frisco, to compete in the state championship meet where one competitor walked away state champion.
