Due to inclement weather and the closure of the Austin Community Landfill, Waste Management cancelled all trash and recycling pickup services in the city January 31. According to city officials, waste collection service is expected to resume on Wednesday, February 1, but may be suspended again depending upon conditions.

At their January 26 meeting, the Hutto ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved calling a $522 million bond election, funded through additional property value growth within the district and with zero increase to the tax rate, following the district’s Long Range Facilities Planning Committee’s recommended project list to the school board.

Voters within Hutto ISD’s boundaries will have the opportunity to cast their votes on three propositions during the May 6 election.
