On Saturday, July 8, starting at 7:30 a.m. at 143 Bastrop St., The McDade Watermelon Festival will have familyfun activities and, most of all, watermelon, 143 Bastrop St.
The day will be jampacked with watermelonthemed activities such as the following.
From 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., four bands will perform on the pavilion stage Registration for a washer pitching tournament begins at 11 a.m. at $25 per team. The tournament starts at 11:30 a.m.
The watermelon eating contest will be at 12:30 p.m. and a watermelon seed spitting contest at 2 p.m. at the pavilion.
The prized melon auction will be at 5 p.m. in the pavilion with a free melon feast at 5 p.m.
