Sexton more than a Dickens novel character

A cemetery sexton may conjure up an archaic character from a Charles Dickens’ novel, but Morgan Cook says his job at Taylor’s cemetery is a bit more involved than that. Cook stopped by the Taylor Press March 15 to film an episode of “Taylor Talk with Jason Hennington” and discuss the modern-day challenges associated with his centuriesold job.

Decayden Wilson was hoping to pet an animal or two, but the youngster did not go home disappointed. “It’s amazing,” said the 10-year-old, who attended the Taylor Public Library’s Truck Petting Zoo March 16 with his great aunt, cousin and sister.

HUTTO – Although nobody is officially stating that the deal has been called off, Hutto has returned a $200,000 deposit on land that was being held for the future site of Applied Materials, a world-wide supplier to the semiconductor industry. The company has a manufacturing plant in Northeast Austin that employs an estimated 2,500 workers.
