Alumnus revisits donation

Sixteen years ago, Tim Mikeska (THS Class of 1978) donated a large number of Automated External Defibrillators to various schools and organizations to help save lives. Taylor ISD received three of these devices which are used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

THS band student advances to State

Taylor High School saxophone player, Kenny Calvo, has advanced to the 4A All-State Band. To reach the All-State level, he had to compete in a regional competition and then in an area competition. He is one of only five highschool saxophone players state-wide to have been chosen for the All-State honor.

Mayor to present state of the city

Coupland Civic Organization (CCO) This month’s Coupland Civic Organization meeting will be Monday, Jan. 30, in the Fellowship Hall of St. Peter’s Church. Mayor Jack Piper will speak about the state of the city. CCO President Susan Schmidt will discuss the 2022 CCO activities and the upcoming 2023 events.
