Another source is available to help tornado damage recovery efforts. Working with Williamson County Commissioner Russ Boles, Williamson County Farm Bureau (WCFB) is coordinating a nonprofit relief fund for rural residents of Williamson County impacted by tornados that hit Williamson County March 21.

The Taylor Educational Enrichment (TEE) Foundation celebrated their 2022 grant recipients on March 25 in true Mallard Mania style with a parade that traveled to classrooms to surprise the winners. “Receiving a TEE Foundation grant is like Christmas morning,” said first grade teacher Cassidy Walters.

After cancellation on March 21 due to the tornadoes in the area, the Taylor ISD school board held their monthly meeting this past Monday, March 28. During his report, Superintendent Devin Padavil put into context complicated times versus complex times.

Thrall residents have a few upcoming meetings to learn more about the school bond up for election in May. Next Sunday, April 10, Thrall Independent School District will have the next session in a series of community meetings on bond propositions.

Records are made to be broken. On Saturday, March 26, not one, but two Taylor track records were smashed, both in the hurdles event.

For the fifth year, ESTEAM Academy will host its annual Children’s Business Fair in Round Rock to support and encourage young entrepreneurs between the ages of 4-17. This year, the fair has grown by 30% and will showcase the talents of over 70 young entrepreneurs in more than booths.

This weekend is the last chance to get up to Georgetown to get a taste of Dolly Parton music while watching an interesting story. Georgetown Palace Theatre will present “9-to-5 The Musical” until April 3 at the Springer Stage.

As a favorite rest stop for cyclists, New Sweden Lutheran Church seeks to share a blessing of love, safety and support for cyclists and the causes for which they ride. The church, located at 12809 New Sweden Church Road in Manor, will welcome cyclists from across central Texas and preside over an outdoor Blessing of the Bicycles service on Saturday, April 9, at 10:30 a.m.

The Williamson County AgriLife Extension Service will offer a vegetable growers conference on Wednesday, April 6. The program will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SPJST Hall, 5025 FM 619 in Taylor.
