The Future, Jesus in the Feast of Trumpets

Rescue. Rest. God has, does, and will save people who are His and renew them. The spring feast of Passover celebrates God’s power to do just that, beginning with rescuing His people from Egypt nearly 3,500 years ago. Unleavened Bread and Pentecost, also in the springtime, remind us to be set apart for God’s purpose: partnership with Him in returning creation to the perfection it once enjoyed before we messed everything up. If we do this, we too will find rescue and rest at the end of this world to which the fall feasts of God look forward.

New shelter in new year amid new costs

Although costs toward the City of Taylor Animal Shelter have risen, city leaders expressed excitement Thursday at the prospect of a rejuvenated facility around next year’s horizon. Upgrades for the animal shelter are expected to be finished within seven months of bidding this summer.

Church helping special needs kids

A local church wants the community’s help in helping a special population at Taylor Independent School District. Crossroads Assembly of God is working with Taylor ISD’s John Matthews to purchase several items for the special needs kids at the school “We have bought about $800 worth of items for the kids,” said Shane Allen, Crossroads pastor, “but there are more items to purchase and we are out of funds for the project.
