The St. Mary’s Catholic School Elementary and Jr.
High Cross Country teams traveled to Grace Academy in Georgetown to compete in the Austin Christian Athletic Association Cross Country meet last Saturday, Oct. 15.
Head coach Ruben Rodriguez said the team has been practicing for the past nine weeks bright and early every morning before school and these athletes gave it their all and represented the rams proudly.
On the Elementary girls’ team Brynley Huber and Lily Rodriguez finished in 2nd and 4th place respectively. While on the Elementary boys’ team Ryan Lawrence, Hossa Barta, Blake Yezak, Nick Mokry, Michael Janek and Paul Melcher finished in 5th, 6th, 7th,13th, 14th and 15th place respectively The Elementary boys’ team was awarded 1st place for effort, while the Elementary girls’ claimed 2nd place.
The middle school girls’ team had Miranda Jaimes finish in 2nd place followed by Julia Heyl and Ella Sheffy in 5th and 8th place. The boys’ middle school team had Nicholas Jessup in 6th place.
The middle school girls were awarded 2nd place for their performance.
