One dead after collision
One dead after collision

A motorcyclist killed in a collision involving a sportutility vehicle became Taylor’s fourth traffic fatality of the year. The Williamson County District Attorney’s Office is working to determine if charges will be filed after officers reported the SUV driver left the scene of the accident.

By all accounts, the Taylor Cemetery has needed some tender loving care for years. A high percentage of the headstones, some of which are more than 100 years old, need leveling at the municipally owned facility.

Thrall and Granger cross country dominate district championship

The cross-country teams for Thrall and Granger combined for a total of eight top-10 finishers, six top five finishers and two first place finishers at the District Championship meet Monday. Thrall sophomore Sarah Beth Laurence and Granger senior Cobe Whitney both claimed first place in the varsity girls twomile run and varsity boys 5,000 meter run respectively. Laurence finished her race in 12 minutes and 43 seconds, a good 12 seconds in front of the second- place finisher.

WEEK SEVEN RECAP

Week seven of the high school football season and there were a lot of great games that involved local teams. The St. Mary’s Rams and Granger Lions found themselves picking up wins on Friday while the Tayor Ducks, Hutto Hippos and Thrall Tigers were not so lucky. The Rams went on the road and defeated the Buckholts Badgers 68-20. The Rams received a major contribution from senior Andrew Flores scoring his first touchdown of the season.
