The First Baptist Church of Taylor invites the community to a night of food, fellowship and live music at their second annual Music in the Park fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24 in Heritage Square Park.

Attendees can purchase pulled pork sandwiches, turkey legs and beverages as they listen to live music from a talented lineup of local musical performers.

Proceeds from the event will go towards construction of a new Fellowship Hall Building at their historic location at 300 N. Robinson St. in Taylor.

One of the evening’s performers will be Austin-based singer/ songwriter Michaela Watson, an up-andcoming R &B singer, who at 22 has several original singles under her belt, and is in the process of releasing an EP, or mini album.

“Known for her soulful voice, creative style and fascinating sprit, Michaela finds a way to mix her vintage influence with a modern and fresh sound,” according to michaelawatson. com.

Accomplished singer/vocal instructor Ronnie Hall, who is described as having “jaw-dropping” talent will also be taking the stage. In addition to performing, Hall has a career training vocalists through Zach theater, the Austin Women’s Chorus and other organizations.

According to his web site, “Ever since I was a young child, I have often dreamed of teaching and inspiring the world through music,” he said. “Music is such a fulfilling joy, and I believe it is the universal language to everyone’s heart and soul.” Saxophonist and acclaimed recording artist Jacques Brown will also be performing gospel jazz from his CD Redemption and other music.

Finally, Taylor Press’s own Editor/ Publisher, Jason Hennington, returns to the stage and is expected to bring down the house performing his original blend of hip-hop — sometimes with assistance from his daughters as backup singers. “This is a great event for people to come together and enjoy different styles of music,” Hennington said. “Music is a universal language and can reach all people through various genres. I’m blessed and honored to be asked to be a part of this event this year.”
